In Search of OZ's Perfect Pinot Gris
(while not forgetting the noir)
The author, A.B. Gayle, is on a mission for the Wine Taster's Diary to find Australia's best Pinot Gris. With the support and advice of multi published author, William Maltese, her search will begin in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. Along the way, she will be passing back her findings to William and sharing with the reader the great Pinots (with an emphasis on the gris) that can be found in this region.

Based on Diaries and Letters of the time,
this is the tale of one of the first Europeans to settle
in New Zealand.
Thomas Kendall and his family were part of the first group of Europeans to live in New Zealand. His role as a lay missionary and teacher brought him into close contact with the natives and chiefs of the Bay of Islands where they settled.
As he had the best command of the maori language and studied it extensively, he became the central figure in the sometimes uneasy and often difficult relationship between the two groups.
