Red+Blue has been translated into Italian by Fran Macciò!
The Italian title, "Rosso e Grigio" (Red and Grey) was chosen because the concept of "Blue" for blue-blooded or depressed/sad doesn't fit the literal translation.
However as the wine, Pinot grigio will feature in the sequel "Give+Take" that seems apt. Plus, according to Dreamspinner's Italian publicist, Emanuela Piasentini, "The Grigio in Italian works because "una vita grigia" (a gray life) is a flat life where nothing really good or really bad happens. It's like Adrian's corporate life, he denies himself so much and there's no fire (red) in his life, until he meets Ben."
It's been received well so far, and at one stage was Number 8 best selling romance at Amazon's Italian site.
I gather a French version will also be available later this year.

I have created Pinterest boards for all my books.
Some of them are still in the WIP stage ("Home+Away", "Give+Take" and Truth+Lies")
As I write, I post images that resonate and photos of scenes where the story is set.

My latest short story is included in the free anthology produced for OzmmMeet2013. Entitled "Home" it is the first part of "Home+Away" the third installment in my "Opposites Attract" series.
While it introduces two new characters, Jesse and Isaac, characters from "Caught" and "Leather+Lace" appear as secondary characters. You don't have to have read those stories first.
The anthology is free and I can recommend it also for the other stories that are included. There is something for everyone. Paranormal, humor, angst. The linking factor is the setting of Australia or New Zealand is integral to the story line.
Copies can be obtained from Smashwords and All Romance Ebooks or my Free Reads page

Leather+Lace came fifth in the Erotic Romance category in this year's Rainbow Awards!
And as such qualifies as a "Runner Up!" I hadn't held out much hope as quite a few of the other finalists had been awarded a "Highly Commended"
So many great books. I felt priveleged to be ranked among them.
There have been some great 5 star reviews for
Leather + Lace lately check out On Top Down Under, Jessewave, Hearts on Fire, Joyfully Jaye, to name just a few plus some great reviews from people in the scene. In some ways, I appreciate those the most. |

"Red + Blue" reached #3 in the bestseller list
at Dreamspinner!

The first reviews are coming in and so far the response has been positive.
The most common reaction has been requests for a sequel, so I wrote a response here, outlining my plans for the series.
I also had a couple of very good reviews from readers who totally "got" what I was doing. Ljeoma wrote a particularly good one.

5 cups and an awardCoffee Time Romance gave Isolation a great review. Check it out here.

"Caught" a "Recommended Read"
Tina had some nice comments saying it is: one
of the most well thought out books I have read in a long time.
Everything from the cover to how the story unfolds is just beautifully
and artfully done. Click on the logo to read more.

Blogging at DreamspinnerTo celebrate the release of "Caught", Dreamspinner invited me to host a "Meet the Author" day.
As well as posting an excerpt, I shared some of the stories about the writing of "Caught" and got some great feedback from readers and other authors. Catching your Eye with the Cover of Caught So often you hear the complaint that too many stories feature white Anglo characters. I wholeheartedly concur. However, after writing “Caught” and the hours I spent searching for a suitable photo for the cover I can understand one aspect why that might be. Admittedly, the fact that my character, Daniel Ho, has long hair, made the job extra difficult. I have to thanks my Facebook friend, Kei Chan, whose daily suggestions inspired me to keep looking as long as I did. I literally scanned through hundreds on the different stock photo sites before I eventually discovered my guy. I’d seen him in other poses but they always included weapons and markings. In them, it’s almost as if he’s hiding his beauty. .... (click on topic for more Lightening the Tone with humor and sex ... although the subject matter underlying “Caught” is serious, I’ve tried to inject some humor or at least lightness into the story. It’s not as easy as it may seem. What makes us laugh? For some, it’s slapstick humor, the “Funniest Home Videos” where a person or animal comes a cropper. For some it’s witty word play. Some people hate one and love the other. Some don’t like any, but that’s another story...... (click on topic for more) |
Now that I've "Caught" your attention!
.... In a way, the story revolves around the word “Caught” in its different connotations.
The setting is Sydney, Australia where I now live. While the thread that weaves throughout is a serious one: a man who teams up with an invalid lady to act as a volunteer suicide watch at a notorious clifftop, the actual tone is not bleak.
Probably all of us have been touched in some way by the death of someone who has given up all hope on happiness. My story in no way diminishes the tragedy, horror and grief, but hopefully it presents it in a way that is easy to read. (click topic for more)
And finally:
Gloving Up like the Pro's
.... When I was editing for another publisher, one of the things that annoyed authors the most was having to include condoms in a sex scene. Readers also sometimes dislike having the romance and spontaneity destroyed. It’s one aspect that doesn’t have to apply in Paranormal, Scifi and Historical m/m romances. However if you’re writing a contemporary story post 1980’s there has to be a bloody good reason not to have one.
So I thought for a laugh and inspiration, let’s look at the way the pro’s “glove up”. (click on the topic for more)
